Redicote E-7000 : Emulsifier for anionic and cationic slow set bitumen emulsions
Redicote E-7000 is produced by Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry an emulsifier for anionic and cationic slow set bitumen emulsions suitable for tack, prime, slurry seal, dust oil and cold mix applications. It’s an emulsifier for slow-set emulsion used in sealcoat manufacture, versatile emulsifier for both cationic and anionic emulsions used in many applications
Benefits and Features
- Versatile Emulsifier: Provides both anionic and cationic emulsions suitable for a very wide range of applications.
- Good Adhesion: Anionic emulsions made with Redicote E-7000 provide good adhesion to siliceous aggregates.
- Easy handling: The product is low viscosity and completely water soluble.
- Tack, Prime and Dust oils: The good wetting power and dilutability of Redicote E-7000 emulsions makes them particularly suitable for these applications.
- Cold mix and Slurry: Emulsions provide good cohesion development in cold mix applications and can meet the requirements of quick-traffic slurry systems.
Dosage
- Cationic Slow Set Emulsion 1.5-2.5% pH 1.5-2.5 Hydrochloric acid
- Anionic Slow Set Emulsion 1.5-2.5% pH 10.0-12.5 Sodium hydroxide
Anionic emulsion for sealcoat manufacture uses Redicote E-6945 co-emulsifier.
Storage and Handling
Redicote E-7000 contains water: stainless steel or lined tanks are recommended for bulk stores. Redicote E-7000 is compatible with polyethylene and polypropylene. Product stored in bulk does not need to be heated. Redicote E-7000 is a concentrated surfactant and is irritating to skin and eyes. Protective goggles and gloves must be worn when handling this material. For further information refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
