Diamine OLBS : Active Adhesion Promoter for hot bitumen, cut back bitumens, soft bitumens and emulsions
Diamine OLBS is produced by Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry an active adhesion promoter for hot bitumen, cut back bitumens, soft bitumens and emulsions used in surface dressing (chipseal), and cold and warm mixes, including those using reclaimed materials. It is a liquid product for excellent active adhesion in chipseal and soft bitumen mixes
Benefits and Features
- Active adhesion: Treated bitumen has the ability to displace water and finds use in spray applications whenever the aggregate could be wet or in mix operations at lower temperatures.
- Easy to use: The product has significantly lower viscosity than other concentrated adhesion promoters, even in cool temperatures, making for easy dosing.
- Patch mix: The excellent active adhesion of the product makes it the best choice for patch mixes based on cut back and fluxed bitumens.
- Emulsion quality: The quality of cationic rapid and medium setting emulsions is improved by the addition of Diamine OLBS to the bitumen
Dosage
Hot and warm mix 0.5-1.0% basis binder
Soft bitumen mixes 0.5-1.2% basis binder
Chipseal 0.5-1.5% basis binder
Cationic Emulsion 0.1-0.3% basis binder
Storage and Handling
Diamine OLBS may be stored in carbon steel tanks. Bulk storage should be maintained at 10-30°C (50-86°F). Diamine OLBS contains amines and is corrosive to skin and eyes. Protective gloves and safety goggles must be used when handling this product. For further information, consult the Safety Data Sheet.
Packaging Information
Diamine OLBS is available in bulk shipments, in tight head steel drums of 180kg (396lbs)) net weight or in one-way totes (IBCs) of 900kg (1984lbs)
